Feeding the Families

So far we have raised enough money to feed 14 families!

The Feeding the Families program at Happy Heart Farm offers local seasonal organic vegetable shares, in partnership with The Front Range Permaculture Institute, to low-income families in Fort Collins. Our goal for 2010 is to provide vegetable shares for 40 families from June- November, funded with the generous donations received from individuals, families, churches and businesses.

A 2009 Feeding the Families participant wanted to share this with you:
“Every week we picked up vegetables of a quality that my family could not otherwise afford.  Like many single parents, I struggle and fight to maintain an optimal quality of life for my child. Poverty too often determines what is for dinner. This growing season we have eaten only the freshest produce: kale, broccoli, basil, purple potatoes, squash, fresh lettuce, green cabbage and even heirloom varieties of plants. All the things we may not have had the time, water and money to grow on our own. Happy Heart Farm has not only made a donation of produce, but also the donation of imagination transformed into action.”
We invite your participation in helping us raise $25,000 to fund this program.
$25 provides vegetables for a family for one week, $100 for a month and $550 for over five months.
